Jarvis E. Hamill entered this life on May 10, 1952 in Talihina, Oklahoma born to Carl Richard and Lillian (Sanders) Hamill. Jarvis passed from this life Thursday, December 15, 2016 in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 64 years.

Jarvis served his country in the United States Marines, where he reached the rank of SGT. and flew planes while in service. He loved to play the guitar for friends and family, and enjoyed being outside and fishing. He was a Black belt in Karate. Jarvis was proud to be a member of the Choctaw Nation. He was a creative craftsman and enjoyed making things with his hands.

Mr. Hamill was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lillian Hamill; sister, Deborah Williams; and brothers, Richard, Albert, Harold Glenn and Aldon Hamill.

Mr. Hamill is survived by his; sons, Julian Pittman of Pottsboro, Texas, Josh Hamill of Colbert, Oklahoma and Jarvis Hamill, Jr. of California; daughter, Twahna Hamill of Durant, Oklahoma; brothers, Kenneth Hamill of Ft. Towson, Oklahoma, Roger Hamill of Bennington, Oklahoma and Dewayne Hamill of Durant, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family Hour will be from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home on Sunday, December 18, 2016. A church service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday December 19, 2016 at the 1st Baptist Church in Bennington with Pastor Olin Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Bennington Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Bryan Hamill, James Hamill, Jason Hamill, Ben Bacon. Jonathon Williams Justin Williams, and the honorary pallbearers are Jeff Hamill and H. Smith.
