VERNA FLOY STUTEVILLE

The funeral for Verna Floy Stuteville, 80, of Arkansas City, Kan., will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Central Christian Church Chapel. Graveside service willl be 2 p.m. in Okeene City Cemetery, Okeene. The Rev. Steve Chambers will officiate. Arrangements are by Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City.

She was born April 16, 1917, in Okeene to Martin and Pearl Dickerson Stuteville and died Saturday, April 21, 2007, at Presbyterian Manor Health Care Unit.

She grew up and attended school in Okeene. She later graduated from Central State College of Edmond and received her master’s degree in education from Oklahoma State University. She worked at Tinker Air Force Base during World War II, and started teaching in Dibble. She also taught at Gore and Purcell before moving to Arkansas City in August 1954. She taught business and typing for 28 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Victory Chapter No. 151 of Order of the Eastern Star, bridge club and Central Christian Church. She moved to Presbyterian Manor in 2002.

Surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Central Christian Church.
