Date: December 21, 2009

The funeral for Jay Lee Laubach, 72, of Okeene, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at Okeene Zion Baptist Church. The Rev. Monte Michaelson will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, east of Okeene. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Okeene. The casket will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the funeral home and following the service.

He was born Oct. 20, 1937, to Ervin and Edvina Greb Laubach and died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, in Oklahoma City.

He lived his life in Okeene, graduating from Okeene High School. He attended two years of business college.

He married Judy Howerton Aug. 28, 1959, in Okeene. He was a member of Zion Baptist Church, Okeene. He was a carpenter by trade and active in community affairs and the Chamber of Commerce, where he did fundraising. He also helped found the Donnie Rauh Memorial Fireman's Foundation.

Surviving are his wife, Judy, of Okeene; two children, Lee Laubach and Jana Johannesmeyer, both of Okeene; one brother, Gary Laubach of Okeene; one sister, Nada Hokit of Duncan; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

Memorials may be made to Okeene Municipal Hospital Foundation.
