Shirley Ann (Rehl) Koehn

Shirley Ann (Rehl) Koehn
August 19, 1948 ~ February 1, 2022

Shirley Ann Koehn was born August 19, 1948, in Fairview, Oklahoma, to Raymond and Freda Rehl, and she died Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at the age of 73. She was a resident of the Okeene community for 40+ years, where she worked at the Okeene Municipal Hospital doing laundry for 27 years. She also recorded the weather for the National Weather Service for fifteen years, and Shirley helped deliver newspapers in Okeene for many years. She attended Liberty Schools in Orion, OK, and later attended Fairview High School in Fairview, OK. Shirley also attended the Church of Christ in Okeene. She was married to Victor Koehn until his death in 1996.

Shirley loved flowers and gardening, and she gardened with Victor for many years, probably feeding half of Okeene with their home-grown vegetables. She loved cooking (she was the BEST!), and Shirley cooked at the Annex for several years before delivering her youngest daughter. Shirley loved animals, especially cats, and really enjoyed getting to be the caretaker of her own personal herd who adopted her over the years. Shirley was a quiet being who often dimmed her own light to let those around her shine. But that’s part of what made her so special.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Victor; a step-son, Stevie; and a step-daughter, Darla. She is survived by step-son, Ronnie Koehn and wife, Dawn, of Norman, OK; step-daughter, Lou Chill and husband, Randy, of Fairview; and daughters Shelly Masters of Fairview, OK; Angie Ritchie of Trinidad, CO; and Heidi Koehn of Oklahoma City. Shirley is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Kathy Camren and husband, Don, of Branson, MO; and a brother, Larry Rehl, and wife Judy, of Fairview, OK; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Shirley will be held Saturday, February 5 at 10am at the First Baptist Church in Okeene, OK, with Phillip Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at the Roselawn Cemetery in Okeene, OK, with Wilkinson Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Watonga Community Cat Foundation in Watonga, Oklahoma.
