A private graveside service for Naemie “Amie” Janzen age 97 of Enid formerly of Okeene will be at the Roselawn Cemetery, Okeene, OK under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Amie was born September 13, 1926 in Corn, OK to Cornelius and Sara (Bergman) Reimer. She was raised in the Corn, OK community where she graduated from Corn Bible Academy. She attended Tabor College in Hillsboro, KS for 2 years and graduated from Southwestern State University with a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education/Music. She married Gus Janzen on June 8, 1952 at the Corn Mennonite Church.

Amie taught school in Butler, OK and Orienta, Ok and spent most of her teaching career at Okeene Schools teaching 1st and 3rd grades retiring in 1988. She influenced many students and was grateful to be their teacher. She was a member of Okeene Mennonite Church where she was very active. She was a longtime Sunday school Superintendent, working with the youth and played the piano and organ. Amie lived on the family farm where she helped with the farming, custom harvesting and cattle. She always had a good snack and meal for harvesting. She loved to walk and watch the Oklahoma Thunder Basketball team.

Amie is survived by her two sons Steve (Rita) Janzen of Enid and Danny (Lora) Janzen of Aurora, Nebraska; grandchildren and great grandchildren; Andrew (Lynsey) Janzen and their children Eli, Owen and Caroline, Sarah (Adam) Quinn and their children Sadie and Atlas, Evan (Emily) Janzen and their children Adley, Luke, and Ben, Garrett (Anna) Janzen and their children Paul and Jace, Dylan (McKenzie) Janzen and their child Harlow, and Bethany (Teague) Janzen-McFadden. She also has several nieces, nephews and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gus and her son Wayne Janzen.
