The funeral for Dorothy Marie Laubach, 86, of Okeene, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mennonite Brethren Church in Okeene. Burial will be in Peaceful Cemetery. A reception will follow the graveside service at Okeene school cafeteria. Arrangements are by Wilkinson Mortuary, Okeene.

She was born July 6, 1920, in Okeene to Conrad and Elsie Osmus and died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, in Stillwater.

She spent her entire life in the Okeene community and was a member of Church of God, a business woman, and lunch room manager at Okeene Public Schools. She married Carl Phillip Laubach June 11, 1940.

Surviving are her husband Carl; children, Jerry Laubach of Stillwater, Dennis Laubach of Okeene and Connie McFarland of Tulsa; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Laubach

Dorothy Marie Laubach , 86, died on February 7, 2007 in Stillwater after a long and brave battle with congestive heart failure. She died in the home of her son, Jerry and his wife Annette Laubach , her primary caregivers since July 2006 with the assistance of Judith Karman Hospice of Stillwater. Born in Okeene on July 6, 1920, the daughter of Conrad and Elsie Osmus and the sister of Leonard, William, Alvin and Edwin, Dorothy spent her entire life in the Okeene farming community and touched the lives of many there as an active member of the Church of God, a business woman, the Iunch room manager at Okeene Public School, and as a helpful neighbor.

Her sewing and cooking skills were also bestowed on family and friends, and she leaves a loving legacy of handcrafted gifts and family recipes.

She met her husband, Carl Phillip Laubach in Okeene, and they were married on June 11, 1940 and celebrated 66 years of marriage last year.

Dorothy is survived by her husband Carl; her children, Jerry and Annette Laubach of StilIwater, Dennis and Paula Laubach of Okeene, and Connie and Mark McFarland of Tulsa; her grandchildren, David and Kathy Glasscock of Avondale, Pennsylvania, Lance and Jenny Laubach of Tulsa, Rhett and Ashley Laubach of Edmond, Paul and Maria Laubach of Weatherford, Ross Laubach of Leedey, Victoria Laubach , a law student in Washington, D.C., and Christopher McFarland, an engineering student in St. Louis, Missouri. Dorothy is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, Aaron and wife Cara Glasscock of Houston and Laura, Mary Ann, and Michael Glasscock of Avondale, Pennsylvania, Noah Laubach of Tulsa, and Vivian and Addison Laubach (born 2/2/07) of Edmond; sisters-in-law, Lena Osmus, Betty Jo Osmus, Maizie Osmus, and Emma Hooker; and countless nieces and nephews around the region.

Funeral services for Dorothy will be held Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mennonite Brethren Church at Okeene. Burial will follow at. Peaceful Cemetery. A reception will be held after the graveside service at the Okeene School Cafeteria.

LAUBACH — Carl Philip was born Nov. 26, 1918, and he was a wheat farmer who lived on a farm southwest of Okeene, Okla., for all of his life.

He died March 27, 2009, and will be remembered as a delightful character, an active church member and a good neighbor. He was one of the originators of the Okeene Rattlesnake Roundup, where he was initiated into the "White Fang" Society, having survived a rattlesnake bite in 1968.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy.

He is survived by his children, Jerry and Annette Laubach of Stillwater, Dennis and Paula Laubach of Okeene, and Connie and Mark McFarland of Tulsa; his grandchildren, David and Kathy Glasscock of Avondale, Pa., Lance and Jenny Laubach of Tulsa, Rhett and Ashley Laubach of Edmond, Paul and Maria Laubach of Leedey, Ross Laubach of Leedey, Victoria Laubach of London, England, and Christopher McFarland of Baltimore, Maryland. Carl is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2009 at Mennonite Brethren Church of Okeene. Burial will follow in Peaceful Cemetery. A reception will be held after the graveside service at the Okeene Community Building.
