The funeral for Esther Dorothea Peck, 77, of Watonga, will be 10 a.m. today at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Watonga. The Rev. Paul Schroeder will officiate. Burial will be in Omega Cemetery, Omega. Arrangements are by Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga. 

She was born Aug. 22, 1929, near Winside, Neb., to Paul and Minnie Mach and died Monday, Oct. 2, 2006.

She grew up in Omega and graduated from Omega High School. She married Hugh Peck Oct. 2, 1949, in Watonga and they moved to Sheldon, Mo., where they lived for 14 years, before moving to Cheyenne Wells, Wyo., where they farmed for nine years. They moved back to Omega in 1975. She was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Watonga. She was active in Cedar Valley Home Extension Club and served on Blaine County Election Board.

Surviving are two sons, Hugh Peck Jr. of Fairview and Sid Peck of Omega; two daughters, Dorothy Sponsel of Ulysses, Kan., and Susan Peck of Topeka, Kan.; one brother, Darrell Mach of Knoxville, Tenn.; one sister, Lorraine Mach of Watonga; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Luther Haven children’s camp or Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for eye research.
