FUNERAL NOTICE - SPRING, RUTH N. (OUTHIER) 1919-1988
OKEENE - The funeral for Ruth N. Spring, 69, who died Tuesday, will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Okeene Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Graves officiating. Burial will be in Peaceful Cemetery directed by Wilkinson Mortuary. The casket will be open until service time. Ruth N. Outhier was born April 22, 1919, in Longdale and moved with her parents to Homestead where she attended school. In 1936 she married David A. Spring. They lived on a farm near Okeene. She was a member of Okeene United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and was a life member of United Women Society of Christian Service, serving as president. She also helped organize Girls Scouts in the Okeene community and was elected to the board for Peaceful Cemetery after her husband's death in 1969. Survivors include a son, Kerwin of Waukomis; a daughter, DeLaine Hockett of Yukon; a sister, Ruby Hanson of Homestead; and four grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by twin daughters and a grandson. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Cancer Research.
