Date: August 5, 2010

The funeral service for Leonard L. "Bud" Weaver, 80, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010, at Ames Baptist Church. Rev. Bryan Laramore will officiate. Burial will be in Homestead Cemetery, Homestead, Okla. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Bud was born Feb. 10, 1930, in Homestead, Okla., to Raymond and Clara (Hamilton) Weaver and went to be with his savior at his home of five generations on Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, in Fairview, Okla.

He was raised in Homestead and graduated from Homestead High School. He attended Oklahoma A&M for a semester.

He entered the U.S. Army Air Corp in 1948, serving in the Korean War. He was discharged in 1952.

He married Bessie Hicks in December 1949 in Homestead. He worked for the railroad after his military service for several years. He then worked in the aerial space industry as a quality control inspector for White Sands Missile Range and then he found his real love of driving a truck for over 40 years. He was a member of Ames Baptist Church and an avid hunter. He loved music and his motorcycle and he loved to camp.

He later married Vanita Yokley in 1988.

Survivors include three daughters, Janet Weaver of Ames, Okla., Janie Frazee of Enid, Okla., and Jenny Erdman of Oxnard, Calif.; two sons, Joe Weaver of Enid, Okla., and Jim Weaver of Ringwood, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Joe Allen Weaver Jr., Stephanie Thomas, Joshua, Zachry, Callie, and Mason Frazee, Jesse Weaver, and Julianna Buller; six great-grandchildren; his companion of many years, Vanita Weaver; one brother, Bill Weaver of Kansas; stepchildren, Randall Yokley and Marilyn Johnson; three stepgrandchildren, Grant Yokley, Tanner Yokley and Timothy Johnson; and close friend, Dick Walker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
