Jerry Dan Yates was born July 10, 1954 in Olton, Texas to parents Wanda Fay (Moody) Yates and Claude Yates, Jr. and died on October 14, 2017 at Fairview, Oklahoma.

Jerry lived most of his life in Amarillo, Texas moving to Fairview, OK in February 2016. He was in preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by a sister Doretta and a niece Nikki; also, his cousin Patty Chaloupek and husband Terry of Longdale, OK and Kim Schultz and wife Cathy of West Point, NE; two uncles, Robert Parkhurst of Duncan, OK and Melvin Parkhurst and wife Deann and Aunt Juanice Parkhurst all of Cheyenne, OK; and many other cousins.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, October 16, 2017 at Canton Cemetery with Pastor Kraig Birchfield officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.

Memorials may be made to Canton Christian Church with the funeral home serving as custodian at P.O. Box 36, Canton, OK 73724. Condolences may be made online at www.piercefuneralhomes.com.
