GERTIE WHITNEY

The funeral for Gertie Bulah Whitney, 93, of Canton, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Canton Christian Church. Steve Driskill will officiate. Burial will be in Canton Cemetery. Arrangements are by Haigler Funeral Home Inc.

She was born Sept. 15, 1912, in Boman, Tenn., to George and Mary Womach Lee and died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, in Fairview.

She moved to Oklahoma as a child. She married Warren Stephens April 4, 1927. They lived in Ada, Fairview and Ringwood. He preceded her in death. She later married Clarence Whitney Dec. 10, 1954. They made their home in Canton. He died in 1996.

She was a member of Canton Christian Church. She has lived the past several years at Fairview Fellowship Home, Fairview.

Surviving are two sons, Roger Stephens of Fairview and Larry Stephens of Canton; three daughters, Viola Gibson of Wellston, Gwenda Kinder of Warr Acres and Joyce Stewart of Perryton, Texas; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands, Warren and Clarence, she was preceded in death by five children and 13 brothers and sisters.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Christian Church building fund.
