Waverly Allen Pollock, 78, resident of Canton, Okla. died Friday, March 23, 2007, in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Waverly was born April 20, 1928, in Weatherford, Okla. to Walter Sterling and Goldie Hazel (Allen) Pollock. 

He attended school at Taloga, Okla. Wild Cat School house, and graduated high school at Longdale, Okla. Waverly married Josephine Georgia Meeks on August 25, 1949, in Enid, Okla. They made their home in the Canton community for 54 years, where they were engaged in farming and raising cattle. He loved working on the farm. Josephine died November 14, 2003, after a long battle with her health issues. Waverly was a member of the Canton Masonic Lodge and the Canton Christian Church. He met Veletia Lyons at the country music program held at Longdale, and they were married June 2, 2006.

Waverly was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Josephine; one brother and one sister, Walter Doyle and Virginia Iris;

Survivors include his wife, Veletia Pollock, of the home; son, Wayne Allen Pollock and wife Linda, of Canton, Okla.; daughter, Rebecca Iris Pollock of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two granddaughters, Khristie Lynn Taylor of Okeene, Okla. and Stacie Ann Parks of North Carolina; two great-granddaughters, Josie and Jaycee Taylor; and one great-grandson, Allie Jack Parks.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at Canton Christian Church with Steve Driskill officiating. Burial will follow in Canton Cemetery under the direction of Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton, Okla.

Memorials may be made to the Canton Christian Church or the American Heart Association with the funeral home serving as custodian.
