The funeral for Agnes Mary Murray, 92, of Canton, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Canton Christian Church. Pastor Steve Driskill will officiate. Burial will be in Canton Cemetery. Årrangements are by Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.
 
She was born Feb. 17, 1917, in Canton to Herman A. and Beatrice F. Allinger Paulsen and died Monday, June 22, 2009, at Fairview Fellowship Home, Fairview.

She married Ralph Quinten Murray Aug. 25, 1934, in Watonga. She was a homemaker and lived her entire life in the Canton area, working on the family farm, where she lived until 1972, when they moved into Canton. He died June 13, 1996.

Surviving are two sons, Frank R. Murray and Virgil G. Murray, both of Canton; three brothers, Henry Paulsen of Longdale, Arthur Paulsen of Fairview and Paul Paulsen of St. George, Utah; one sister, Louise Perslyn of New Braunfels, Texas; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-great-grandchild.

In addition to her husband, Ralph, she was preceded in death by one daughter, one brother and one sister.

Agnes Mary Murray
(February 17, 1917 - June 22, 2009)

The funeral service for Agnes Mary Murray will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 25, 2009 at the Canton Christian Church with Pastor Steve Driskill officiating. Burial will be in the Canton Cemetery, Canton, OK under the direction of Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton, OK.

Agnes was born on February 17, 1917 in Canton, Oklahoma to Herman A. and Beatrice F. (Allinger) Paulsen, and died June 22, 2009 at the Fairview Fellowship Home in Fairview, OK.

She married Ralph Quinten Murray on August 25, 1934 in Watonga, OK. Agnes lived her entire life in the Canton area, rearing their children and taking an active part in their farm operations. She lived on the family farm until 1972 when she and Ralph moved into town. Agnes was an excellent cook and homemaker. She and Ralph loved to travel and go on fishing trips until his death on June 13, 1996.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, a daughter Cleo Fay Wolfe, a brother Walter Paulsen, a sister, Patricia Reames, and her parents Herman and Beatrice Paulsen.

Surviving are two sons, Frank R. Murray and his wife Joan of Canton, OK, Virgil G. Murray and his wife Renee of Canton, OK; three brothers, Henry Paulsen and his wife Vernetta of Longdale, OK, Arthur Paulsen and his wife Maxine of Fairview, OK and Paul Paulsen and his wife Jewel of St. George, UT; 1 sister, Louise Perslyn and husband Richard of New Braunfels, TX ; 7 grandchildren, Kathy McFall and husband Mike of Elk City, OK, Lori Mead and husband Mark of Tulsa, OK, Sandra Cavett and husband Dean of Canton, OK, Mike Murray and wife Donnita of Canton, OK, Kurt Murray and wife Debbra of Perkins, OK, Billy Murray and wife Sandy of Kingfisher, OK and Kim Nault and husband Barry of Okeene, OK; 14 great-grandchildren, 5 step-great grandchildren , 7 great-great grandchildren and 1 step great –great grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the Canton Christian Church through the funeral home at P.O. Box 36, Canton, OK 73724.
