Theodore “Teddy” Conrad Jantzen was born July 5, 1941 to Jacob and Katy Jantzen in Canton, OK. He departed this life on Friday, February 17, 2023 at Fairview, OK.

Teddy attended Canton Public schools. He grew up 4 miles west of Canton on his family’s farm. As a kid Teddy drove tractor and helped his father milk cows. He joined the Army at the age of 18 after he and his brother Kenneth had an arrangement that Kenneth wouldn’t join until he got back but Kenneth joined the Air Force two years later. He returned from the Army and continued to help his parents on the farm. In the spring of 1966 he met Joyce Coffman while he was at the Blaine County extension office in Watonga. They went together for 6 months until they were married October 28, 1966 at Roman Nose State Park in Watonga, OK. Two years later they had their first daughter Dawn in July of 1968. In December of 1969 they had their second daughter Susan that passed at birth. Teddy’s passion was raising registered Charolais and Limousin cattle. He even went to Canada to get a registered Charolais bull. He enjoyed going to the cattle sales to find bulls to improve his herd. He enjoyed teaching his grandchildren the ways of farm and ranching and spending time with his great grandchildren. He also enjoyed taking trips with Joyce and going to the farm show.

Teddy was preceded in death by his parents; wife Joyce; infant daughter Susan Joyce; one sister and five brothers; He is survived by his daughter Dawn Gambill and husband Darrin of Canton, OK; grandchildren Hadley Gambill, Rhett Gambill, Dawson Gambill and Ashton Gambill; great-grandchildren Hank Conrad and Whitley Rae Gambill; one sister Adalia Evans of Osage Beach, MO; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Canton Cemetery with Jim McGinn officiating. Service arrangements are under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home, Canton. Memorials may be made to the Canton Firefighters Association or the Canton/Longdale Ambulance service with the funeral home serving as custodian at P.O. Box 36, Canton, OK 73724.
