Enid News and Eagle
ENID - Funeral for Arlene Day, 92, of Yukon, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Canton Christian Church. Burial will follow in Canton Cemetery. Arrangements by Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.

Arlene was born Dec. 23, 1919, in Fay, Okla., to Thomas and Nina Hatter and died Saturday, March 17, 2012, in Yukon.

Surviving are sons, Billy and wife Glenda of Oklahoma City, Terry and wife LaVena of Edmond, Bobby and wife Shirley of Bethany; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by husband, Harry, four brothers, two sisters, one stepson and three grandchildren.

Arlene R. Day, 92, departed this life at Yukon, Oklahoma on March 17, 2012. Arlene was born on December 23, 1919 at Fay, Oklahoma to Thomas and Nina Hatter.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Harry L. Day; her parents Thomas and Nina Hatter; four brothers, Lester, Marvin, Glen and Elvin; two sisters, Viola and Rena; one step-son, Harold Day; one granddaughter and two grandsons; Arlene was devoted to her family and friends and enjoyed gardening and tending the livestock on the family farm north of Canton.

She is survived by her sons, Billy and wife Glenda of Oklahoma City, Terry and wife LaVena of Edmond, Bobby and wife Shirley of Bethany; daughter-in-law Joyce Day of Canton; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; three sister-in-laws; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at the Canton Christian Church with pastor Steve Driskill officiating. Interment will follow at Canton Cemetery under the direction of Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton. Memorials may be made to Russell-Murray Hospice of El Reno or the Alzheimer's Association with the funeral home serving as custodian at P.O. Box 36, Canton, OK 73724. Condolences may be made online at Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home.
