Mary Philomena Boeckman
A Rosary for Mary Philomena Boeckman, 88, will be 7 p.m. today at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Okeene. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. The Rev. Michael Nguyen will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Okeene. Arrangements are by Wilkinson Mortuary, Okeene.
She was born Dec. 27, 1918, in Spearville, Kan., to Frederick and Katherine Teklenborg Temaat and died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, at Okeene Hospital.
She was one of 11 children and attended school in Windhorst, Kan., through the 10th grade.
She married Francis Isadore Boeckman Oct. 23, 1947, in Bison. She was a homemaker and worked with the Blaine County 4-H group. She was a member and officer of Altar Society and NCCW. She taught children’s religion classes for nearly 20 years and wrote local news, “Happenings in the Community,” for the Okeene Record newspaper. .
Surviving are five sons, Stephen of Des Moines, Iowa, Michael of Oklahoma City, Bernard of Weatherford, Richard of Woodward and Norbert of Lakewood, Colo.; four daughters, Barbara Givens of Verden, Carolyn Davidson of McAlester, Dorothy Fisher of Okeene and Dolores Cotton of Stillwater; two sisters, Anna Koehler and Elizabeth Beller; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis, three brothers and five sisters.
Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Parrish Hall Build Fund.
