Mrs. Lydia Ether Hay, Cheyenne, died in the Sayre hospital Saturday, November 2, 1968 after an extended illness. Funeral services were held in the Cheyenne First Baptist church Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Loyd Martin officiating.
Born Februaary 23, 1883 near Omaha, Nebraksa, Mrs. Hay married Alfred Hay at Berlin in 1900. They moved to a farm in the Meridian community in 1901. In 1956 they moved to Cheyenne. Mrs. Hay was a member of the First Baptist church for a number of years. She was a past member of the Red Cross and the Meridian community club.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons; one daughter; 13 brothers and sisters.
Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Carrie Higgins, Cheyenne; one son, Larence of Sayre, seven grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
Interment was in the Mulberry cemetery, Sweetwater, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Rose chapel Funeral Home.
