Mrs. Phyllis Carey, age 32, Elk City, died Friday, April twenty-first, 1978, in the Elk City Community Hospital. Memorial servicesd were held Monday, at 2 p.m. in the Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating was Rev. Robert Shugart of Texola and Rev. Eddie Overstreet of Reydon. Burial was in the Dempsey Cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Martin Funeral Home.

Born September 14, 1945 at Elk City, Phyllis Farrell married Leroy Carey near Grimes on April 1, 1963. She graducated from Cheyenne High School in 1963. They moved to Elk City in 1972 where she was employed at the Community Hospital as a nurses aide and was a student at Sayre Jr. College.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dale Farrell, and her Grandparents.

Survivors are the husband, Leroy Carey, of the home; one daughter, Judy; one son, Dale Ray, both of the home; her mother, Aldena Farrell of Cheyenne; one brother, Billy Farrell and sister-in-law Geniva; 2 nephews, Billy Joe and Michael Farrell of Sweetwater; Leroy's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Carey of Durham.
