Aliene "Nanny" Mills was born February 6, 1942 in Wellington, Texas to Verna and Louie Abernethy. She passed away July 18, 2017 at Elk City, Oklahoma peacefully surrounded by her family at the age of 75 years, 5 months and 12 days.

Aliene grew up in Kelton, Texas where she attended schools. She was married at the age of 18 to Conny Palmer and they raised two children, Jerry and Jan. She obtained employment at the Kelton Elementary School in the cafetera and continued for several years. Aliene later began working for the grocery store in Shamrock, Texas and was later married to Leonard "Nig" Mills at Sweetwater, TX on February 21, 1985. They made their home in Erick, Oklahoma where they raised their son, Gary. Aliene began working for Erick Public Schools as a full time substitute teacher and librarian where she became known as "Momma Mills". She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crossword puzzles, reading and watching murder mysteries. Aliene's passion in life was her family and spending time with children. She was also a member of Erick First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Nig Mills; step daughter, Joyce Divelbiss; granddaughter, Gayle Divelbiss; grandson, Gary David Divelbiss; sisters, Katherine Calcote, Joann Simmons, Currie Dell Bliss, Phyllis Shelton and one brother, Jerry Abernethy.

She is survived by her 3 children, Jerry Palmer and wife, Jennifer, Anson, TX, Jan Hill and husband, Terry, Shamrock, TX and Gary Mills and wife, Lanna, Willow, OK; 12 grandchildren, Lyndsi Hill, Trinity Hill, Brady Hill, Hayden Palmer, Riley Palmer, Belle Smith, Bucki Smith, Talan Mills, Trevor Mills, Trey Mills, Stockton Mills and Phyllis Riley; 10 great grandchildren including David and Brandon Easter; 5 great great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Barbara Vines, Prosper, TX, Vernell Thomas, Longview, TX and Cherry Hall, McLean, TX; 1 brother-in-law, Darvin Bliss and wife, Carol, Borger, TX; 1 sister-in-law, Linda Abernethy, Evant, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Family will receive guests on Friday evening from 6:00 - 7:00 P.M.
