Dorothy Louise Gamble was born April 1, 1926 in Erick, Oklahoma to Ola (Hill) and Maney Kinchen. She passed away March 4, 2019 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 92 years, 11 months and 3 days.

Dorothy grew up four miles north of Erick. She attended school in Erick and Hext graduating from Hext High School in 1944. After graduation she moved to Wichita, Kansas with her sisters for a short time before she returned to Erick, Oklahoma.  She met and was eventually married to Melvin Gamble on January 5, 1946 in Sayre, Oklahoma. Together they made their home southwest of Erick where they farmed wheat, cotton and also raised cattle. Throughout Dorothy and Melvin's 66 years of marriage they worked alongside each other and Dorothy enjoyed every aspect of farm work and had a strong work ethic. After their retirement they enjoyed traveling within the United States and also abroad to 11 different countries. They enjoyed their trips to Colorado in the summers and Texas in the winters where they also enjoyed fishing. Dorothy spent a lot of time sewing, gardening, yard work, playing Domino's and cherished spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Melvin, 1 son, David Gamble, 1 grandson, Todd Gamble and 2 sisters, Lois Pruitt and Lucile Drew.

She is survived by her son, Darrel Gamble and wife, Sherri, Erick, OK; daughter-in-law, Anita Gamble, Kilgore, TX; 4 grandchildren, Lindsay Coker and husband, Brian, Erick, OK, Jamie Gamble and wife, Rachel, Houston, TX, Stacy McSwain, Kilgore, TX and Donnie Gamble and wife, Heidi, Kilgore, TX; 7 great grandchildren, Emma and Ethan Coker, Mason Gamble, Micah and Mason McSwain, Brandon Gamble and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services are under the direction of Fatheree-Albert Funeral Service.
