Graveside services will follow at the Delhi Cemetery.

Coreena was born August 10, 1945 in Sayre, Oklahoma to the late Lando “Dody” Ivester and Georgia (Jarvis) Ivester. She passed from this life on Sunday evening January 19, 2020 at the age of 74.  Coreena grew up on the family farm in New Liberty, Oklahoma where she attended school and then later graduated from Sayre Schools in 1963. After graduation, she had the opportunity to travel the U.S. and Germany before settling back in Sayre in 1966.  Soon after her return, her vibrant red hair and stunning green eyes caught the attention of a young man from Delhi while on the popular Sayre drag. That was just the beginning of their love story and a long life they shared together. Bobby and Coreena married on June 6, 1969 in Sayre, where they continued to live and raise their children until moving to their beloved farm near Delhi in 1995. Coreena had many talents and a great work ethic. She spoke fondly of her various jobs but her favorite was that as seamstress at Eva Dean’s Unique Boutique. Her role as homemaker was highlighted by her amazing gardening, cooking and sewing skills. She would sew anything and everything for her children’s needs, and many others. While busy raising a family she still found time to volunteer in the Church, as a soccer coach and Girl Scout leader. Through these roles, her sweet kindness touched the life of many people, including her children’s friends as they were growing up. Coreena was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she served the Lord through many callings. She was most noted for her position as Family History Consultant where she helped many people research and discover their ancestral family members. She was recognized and honored for her valuable contributions as a Top Census Indexer in 2012. In her later years on the farm, Coreena enjoyed tending to her beautiful flowers, garden and animals, especially her cats. She loved being surrounded by nature and watching the sunsets from her rose garden. She was a talented painter and could make anything beautiful and like-new again. After their retirement, she and Bobby enjoyed traveling and spending time with their grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her father, Lando “Dody” Ivester, grandparents Oscar and Alice Ivester; her mother Georgia Blackwell; and grandparents George and Virginia Jarvis.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Bobby Gilliland, of the home; her 3 siblings, sister Lana Freeman of Moore, OK, sister Virginia Ivester of Stockton, CA, and brother Steve Ivester of Houston, TX; her 4 children, daughter Timi Garcia and husband Luis, son Lance Gilliland, daughter Sheri Wadsworth and husband Mike, daughter Lori Mendoza and husband Joey; 16 grandchildren, Kevin, Carissa, Raylen, Ariel, Gabbi, Sienna, Layla, Alyssa, Emilee, Jacob, Abigail, Shaylee, Brooke, Elizabeth, Braden and Jackson; 11 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM, Friday, January 24, 2020 at Rose Chapel, Sayre with Bishop Fredric Ray Choate officiating.

Interment will follow at Delhi Cemetery.
