Alpine CemeteryBeaver County, Oklahoma

[an error occurred while processing this directive]
Location: S22-T5-R26
This small cemetery is on the Overton Ranch several miles east of Beaver and southwest of Knowles, Oklahoma. It is on private land, near the center of a section, not near a public road. Reportedly there are around 25 graves, but due to the blowing dirt in the Thirties, the graves were obliterated. Native stones mark three graves. There are no inscriptions. Tradition has it that the first occupant was killed in a gunfight at a saloon at Alpine, which was located three fourths of a mile east and about a mile north of the cemetery.
