Robert Kenneth "Bob" Burgett

Robert “Bob” Kenneth Burgett, of Kiowa, died Saturday, October 1, 2016 in McAlester at the age of 52.

Bob was born to Jerry and Carol (Newcomb) Burgett on September 4, 1964 in Santa Paula, California. Bob was raised in California and Colorado.

He married Lisa Mitchell on April 28, 1984 in Ojai, California. Bob and Lisa own and operate B & L Auto in Kiowa.

Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Harley motorcycle, and being with his grandsons. Bob had served on the Kiowa City Council as Vice-Mayor for 2 years.

Bob is survived by his wife: Lisa of the home; daughters: Ashlee Partain and husband, Tyler of Krebs, Carol Burgett of McAlester, Sara Willson and husband, Austin of Kiowa; grandchildren: Cameron Willson, Kanon Willlson, and due in January 2017: Hunter Willson; his father: Jerry Burgett and wife, Kristina of Kiowa; mother: Carol Teasdale and husband, Robert of Watauga, Texas.

Also, sisters: Jeriann Hasty and husband, Lloyd of Mohave Valley, Arizona, Nicole Nelson and husband, David of Saginaw, Texas; brother: Jason Teasdale and wife, Melissa of El Cajon, California; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Doyle and Irene Mitchell; sister-in-law: Debbie Steinlicht; brothers-in-law: Mark Mitchell, Vernon Mitchell and wife, Anelia, all of Kiowa, Roy Mitchell and wife, Melody of Moss Bluff, Louisiana; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his grandfather: Kenneth Burgett, grandmother: Lula Simons, grandmother: Marie Smith, and a brother: Todd Burgett.

The family will greet friends on Wednesday 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bishop Funeral Service.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Bishop Chapel of Memories, officiated by Rev. James Crowson. Burial will follow at Wesley Cemetery, south of Pittsburg.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Mitchell, Jimmy Smith, Dub Thomas, Tyler Partain, Austin Willson, and Jere Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Freeman, Charles Gibbs, Patrick Griffin, and Trevor Mitchell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kiowa Ladies Auxiliary, 516 S. Jackson, Kiowa, OK 74553.

Arrangements are entrusted to Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory.
