Helena, OK. -- The funeral for Edith E. Sweatt, 78, who died April 4, 1994 at Bass Memorial Baptist Hospital, Enid, OK., will be at 2 p.m. Thurs. at the Helena Nazarene Church with Pastor Dean Holt officiating. Burial will be at Timberlake Cemetery, directed by Kenny Lanman Funeral Home.
She was born Oct. 19, 1915, in Munday, TX., to Mr. & Mrs. W. O. Smith. She attended schools in Hope, Ark. On Jan. 12, 1942, she married George Sweatt in El Reno, OK. They lived on a farm near Helena for 46 years. She was a homemaker. Six years ago, they moved into Helena where she was living at the time of her death. She had been a worker in the Nazarene Church for 35 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband in February 1993 and by two brothers.
Survivors are three daughters: Connie Roberts, and Jo Frances Johnson of Helena, OK. and LaVeta Overman of Nampa, ID.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Helena Nazarene Church or Helena Christian Church through the funeral home.
