CAPT Harold O. Shaklee was born July 10, 1918 at Enid OK. He attended Jet High School and Tonkawa Jr. College and was inducted into the service at Oklahoma City in April 1941. He trained at Tulsa OK, Brady TX, Ellington Field TX and Kirtland Field NM. He received his commission as 2LT on April 1, 1942. CAPT Shaklee was stationed as bombardier instructor at Alburquerque NM, Florence SC and Greenville SC. He served 14 months in the CBI and European Theaters with the 341st Medium Bomb Group (The China Clippers) in the 14th Air Force and participated in the campaigns of Burma and China. He returned to the States in November 1945 and was stationed at Kansas City MO. He was awarded the Air Medal, Presidential Unit Citation and 3 Battle Stars.

MARY CATHRENE SHAKLEE
Stillwater, OK. -- A graveside service for Mary Cathrene Shaklee, 82, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Timberlake Cemetery, northeast of Helena, OK. The Rev. Brantley Tillery will officiate. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Helena. The casket will be open at the funeral home 1-8 p.m. today and 2-6 p.m. Sunday.
She was born June 11, 1918, in Helena, OK. to John A. and Cora Faye Keiffer Schmook and died Friday, April 20, 2001 at Grace Living Center in Stillwater, OK.
She attended school in Jet, OK. and graduated from Phillips University, Enid, OK. with a bachelors degree in education. After graduation, she taught English at Helena High School.
She married Harold O. Shaklee Feb. 1, 1943 in Austin, TX. She returned to Helena after he departed for overseas duty. They made their home on the family farm near Jet until he was recalled to the Air Force in support of the Korean War. She traveled with him in the military until his retirement in 1966, when they moved to Stillwater. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Stillwater Chapter of the Eastern Star. She continued as an alumnus to support Phillips University.
Surviving are her children, Mike of Helena, OK., Ann Moffat of Stillwater, OK., David of Lahoma, OK., and Ward of Melbourne, FL.; one sister, Margaret Glidewell of Helena, OK.; one brother, John E. Schmook of Bella Vista, AR.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made through the funeral home to Judith Karman Hospice, Stillwater, OK.; Timberlake School Library; or Stillwater United Methodist Church.
