May 10, 1941 - December 31, 2018

Mass of Christian Burial for Cecil Severin is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019, in St. Michael's Catholic Church in Goltry, the Rev. Mark Mason officiating.

Burial follows in St. Michael's Cemetery, under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Cecil Jay Severin was born May 10, 1941, to Julius and Rose (Simunek) Severin at St. Mary's Hospital in Enid, and passed away December 31, 2018, at St. Mary's Hospital in Enid.

Cecil graduated a Goltry Bulldog in 1959, and then attended Enid Business College. He then went to work for Champlin, where he was supervisor of the royalty department.

Cecil married Janice Wells on December 26, 1959. The beautiful couple were blessed with Sheri, Brian, and Dwayne, and recently celebrated 59 years of marriage.

In 1972, Cecil moved his family back to his home farm in Goltry, where he farmed and began Severin Tax Service, retiring in 2009 after 37 years, continuing to farm with his son until his death.

He is survived by his wife, Janice; daughter, Sheri Sturgeon and husband, Rustin; two sons, Brian and wife, Cindy, Dwayne and wife, Melissa; nine grandchildren, Quentin Sturgeon and wife, Lynsie, Megan Albright and husband, Clay, Brianna Stephens and husband, Matthew, Tyler Severin and wife, Jordan, Brandon, Kylee, Jaden, Cade, and Conner Severin; and eight great-grandchildren, Addie, Avery, Corbin Sturgeon, Carstin Albright, Emma and Jackson Stephens, Jayli and Thatcher Severin; and two foster grandsons, Cameron and Alex.

As well as a sisters-in-law, Katherine Severin and Mary-Ann Stover and husband George; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, infant Alfred, and R.J. and sisters, Bertha and Julie.

Cecil was greatly loved by his family and the community. He was passionate about attending all the activities to cheer for and support his grandchildren and their teams.

Memorials may be made to St. Michael's Church, the Goltry Fire Department, or Cal Farley's Ranch.
