Pleasant View Cemetery


JET — Funeral service for Donna Marie Smith, 89, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015, at First Baptist Church, Cherokee, Okla., with the Rev. Trevor Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, north of Jet, with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home Inc. of Cherokee. Viewing will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today, May 20, at the funeral home. Donna was born Jan. 25, 1926, to Donald William and Irene Wilcox Campbell on the family farm, south of Jet, and passed from this life on Saturday, May 16, 2015, in Oklahoma City.

She married David C. Smith, and to this union, four sons were born: Ed, D.C., Bill and Craig.

David and Donna farmed in the Jet area. Donna cooked and helped with the farming and running cattle. She also worked 10 years as a medical aide at Cherokee Manor.

Donna was a member of Jet Christian Church.

Those who preceded Donna in death include her husband, David, and parents, Donald and Irene Campbell.

Survivors include her four sons, Ed Smith and wife Barbara of Stillwater, D.C. Smith and wife Michelle of Tulsa, Bill Smith and wife Sandra of Oklahoma City and Craig Smith and wife Becky of Jet; grandchildren, Chris and Jenny Smith, Shandee and Wade Harrell, Shelli and Chuck Liston, Shannon and Clay Martin, Trevor and Allyson Smith, Travis and Becca Smith, Tracy and Josh Gatlin, Andrew and Jessica Smith, Coby Smith and Adam Smith; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, W.D. Campbell and wife Wanda and Dean Campbell and wife Mary Etta; four sisters, Myrtle Ellen Shaklee, Norma Lea Zander and husband Eddie, Linda Lou Zander and husband Larry, and Dixie Claflin and husband Larry.

Memorials may be given to Cherokee FFA through the funeral home.
