October 1, 2014 – February 15, 2015

On a windy evening in early October, Gracie Elizabeth Hindman gusted her way into the lives of her parents, Nicole Danielle Cash of Pawnee and Clinton James Hindman of Ponca City. The day after Valentine’s Day, she left a trail of broken hearts as she drifted back to Heaven, taking with her the sweet kisses, goofy grins and wise, blue eyes.

Although she only lived for 137 days, she was destined to have pistols firing as she donned her OSU orange to watch sports with her daddy. She was, however, a girlie girl and looked especially precious in pink and outrageous bows. She developed a particular fondness for lying snuggled under her Grandfather Rocky’s chin and always had a special smile for her Grandmother, Melinda. She also had a crazy, fun relationship with her Grandmother, Sheri, with whom she loved to teeter-totter.

She was an avid thumb sucker and according to her daddy (who she had wrapped around her little finger), she had a thumb made of sugar. She was enthusiastic about Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Curious George. She also enjoyed swinging and kicking her feet at things, especially her play mat piano and her mommy’s boobies.

She was very happy to be with her best, four legged friend, Rupert the cat. She found him particularly hilarious.

In addition to her parents, Sweet Gracie was loved and cherished by several uncles and aunts who will continue to love and cherish her, even though now Heaven separates them. They include: Nick Cash of Jet, Chace Hindman and Ashley Campbell of Oklahoma City, Kisen Sharp of Alva, Alisha Campbell, Shannon Plott, and Shawn LaBlue of Houston, and Nathan and Natasha Hindman of Blackwell.

In addition to many great-grandparents, she also is survived by her grandparents, Rocky and Melinda Cash of Pawnee, Sheri Sharp of Ponca City and Clint and Denise Hindman of Blackwell. Also, she is survived by a host of cousins who will miss out on a lifetime of mischief and spiciness due to her early departure.

The funeral will be held at Jet United Methodist Church, 301 North 3rd Street, Jet, OK 73749 today, Feb. 20th, 2015, at 3 p.m. with a grave site service to follow at Jet Cemetery. The funeral is under the direction of Lanman Funeral Home Inc. in Helena, Okla.

Flowers can be received through the funeral home at 309 East 4th, Helena, OK 73741.

All financial donations may be made to help defray the costs of the funeral at P.O. Box 126, Helena, OK 73741. The funeral home will act as custodian. The family asks that those in attendance of the funeral wear yellow or pink to celebrate Gracie’s life.
