CHARLES PERRY DUNN
A graveside service for Charles Perry Dunn, 92, of Jet, OK. will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Pleasant View Cemetery, north of Jet. The Rev. Shorty Unruh will officiate. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Helena, OK. Visitation will be 1 to 5 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, and 9 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
He was born Nov. 5, 1913, in Jet, OK. to Charles Perry and Anna Kolek Dunn and died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, at Golden Oaks Nursing Center, Enid, OK.
He graduated from Jet High School then attended business college.
He married Wanda Mae Payne June 8, 1940, in Pawhuska, OK. They made their home in Jet where he owned and operated the grocery store for 28 years. They moved to Golden Oaks Retirement Village 10 years ago. She died in 1999.
He served in the SeaBees from March 1, 1943, until Nov. 12, 1945. He was active in Jet Lions Club, Senior Citizens of Jet and a member of Jet United Methodist Church. He was a member of Grand National Quail Club, had served on the Governor's Council on Tourism as well as the board of directors for Northern Oklahoma Development Authority, and was involved in Red Carpet Country.
Surviving are three children, John Mack Dunn of Denver, CO., Danny B. Dunn of Enid, OK., and Toby Dunn of Oakland, Calif; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
In addition to his wife, Wanda, he was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Jet Volunteer Fire Department or Hospice Circle of Love.
