Jet – The funeral for Frances Alberta Dunavant Blackledge, 75, will be at 10:30 AM Friday at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brian Mangan officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, Inc. of Cherokee.

She was born January 27, 1922, at Helena to Perry F. And Lottie Ewing Geitgey and died Sunday, June 15, 1997, at Fairview Fellowship Home.

She married Dale Dunavant on November 9, 1940, at Cherokee and he died in 1973. On February 5, 1983, she married Keith Blackledge and he died in 1992. She retired as the Postmaster of Jet in 1982. She was a lifelong resident of Jet.

She was a member of United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by one son, Les Dunavant of Barrington, Illinois; one brother, John Geitgey of Jet; two half sisters, Pauline Hartman of Helena and Rosalie White of Carmen.

She was preceded in death by both husbands, two half brothers and one half sister.

Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church.

Friends and visitors may call at the funeral home from 9 AM to 8 PM Thursday.
