Billie Lee "Bill" Dunavant was born at Jet on February 7, 1927 to parents, Howard James Dunavant and Velma Virginia Russell Dunavant and passed from this life in Enid on February 19, 2019. He was raised in the Jet area and graduated from Jet high school. He had served his country in the US Army during the Korean conflict. Bill and Elsie May Talley were married on May 20, 1954 and they had a son, Rusty Dunavant. They continued living in Jet where Bill did his life's work as a farmer and a carpenter. He was a member of Jet Christian Church and American Legion #4. He had served on Jet School Board, Jet Town Board, Farmers Co-Op Board and Jet Volunteer Fire Department.

Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Elsie May Dunavant on April 6, 1988.

Those surviving are his son, Rusty Joe Dunavant of Jet and grandson, Shean Joseph Dunavant and wife, Madison of Nash. Also surviving are two great-grandchildren, Addyson and Hastyn Dunavant.

Memorials may be made to Jet Fire Department through the funeral home.
