Melinda Kaye Cash, age 52, of Alva passed from this life February 7, 2019, at Share Convalescent Center in Alva. She was born May 22, 1966, to Bud and Melva Dokes in Indianapolis, Indiana. Melinda graduated from Jet Nash High School in 1984 and attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva and Rogers State College in Claremore. Melinda married Rocky Cash January 19, 1989. Melinda worked at several jobs over the years. The one she loved the most was as a classroom aide at Jet Elementary. The students loved Ms. Cash and she was willing to help in any way. She had such a great sense of humor and a beautiful smile. Melinda loved attending all of her kids' activities. She was very creative and loved to scrapbook and take pictures. She was a serious collector of scrapbook "stuff."

Melinda is survived by two children, Nicholas and Nicole Cash; grandson, Gabriel Ross Cash; her loving sister and caretaker, Melanie Lott and husband, Gary of Alva; two brothers, Marty Dokes of Oklahoma City and Myron Dokes of Mohawk, Indiana; her very special "fur" babies, Bailey, Jake, Bears and Lucy; sister-in-law, Paula Castle and husband, Kent; brother-in-law Chuck Duke and wife, Jacquelyn; many loving and caring nieces and nephews.

A special thank you goes to Melinda's caregivers at Share who were more than friends, they had become family.

Melinda is preceded in death by her mother, Melva Babcock on July 18, 2002; her father, Bill Babcock on April 9, 2001; granddaughter, Gracie Elizabeth Cash on February 15, 2015; grandparents, Melvin and Fern Wayman.
