Pleasant View Cemetery


ENID — Burial for Olive Clydene Bruner, 83, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012, in Pleasant View Cemetery, Jet. The memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at Jet Methodist Church with the Rev. Mary Irby officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Goodwin Funeral Home, Cherokee. Visitation is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.

Clydene was born Oct. 5, 1928, in Enid the daughter of Clyde and Lillian Carson Tucker and passed away Friday, April 13, 2012, in Alva.

She lived in Jet until 1938, when the family moved to Cherokee. She graduated from Cherokee High School in 1946 and from Oklahoma A&M at Stillwater in 1950. She later earned her master's degree from Auburn University.

She and Dan Bruner were married June 3, 1952, at First United Methodist Church, Cherokee.

In 1964, they moved to Florissant, Mo., and later to Foristell, Mo., where they owned a western wear clothing store.

She taught school in Jet, Okla., Georgia and Missouri. They retired in 1998 and moved to Cherokee. After retirement, they enjoyed traveling and showing their horses.

Her husband preceded her in death in 2004, and she continued to live in Cherokee. She was a member of the Methodist Church and Eastern Star.

Surviving are two sisters, Wanda Campbell and husband Don of Jet and Ruth Ann Perkins and husband Larry of Cherokee; and a nephew, Scott Perkins of Houston, Texas.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a niece, Candace Campbell.

Memorials may be given to Pleasant View Cemetery Fund or Share Hospice through Goodwin Funeral Home.
