JAMES JOSEPH SOMERS
A graveside service for James Joseph Somers, 82, of Wichita, Kan., will be 2 p.m. today in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. The Rev. Dean Miller will officiate. Arrangements are by Wharton Funeral Chapel, Alva.
He was born March 22, 1924, southwest of Aline to Jesse Howard and Coral Adel Young Somers and died Saturday, March 25, 2006, at Wichita.
He graduated from Cleo Springs High School in 1943. He received a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern State University.
He worked for Boeing, Cessna and a submarine yard in Pasoagoala, Ala. He retired from Cessna with a disability. He lived in Wichita over 50 years.
Surviving are one brother, Orville Somers of Enid.
He was preceded in death by one brother, and three sisters.
Memorials may be made to Aline Pleasant Ridge Association, in care of Bonnie Garner, Cleo Springs.
