SPENCER ERNEST ANTHONY
The funeral for Spencer Ernest Anthony, 93, of Cleo Springs, OK., will be 2 p.m. Friday at Cleo Springs Church of the Nazarene. The Revs. Jim Burggraf and Danny Barnwell will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, southwest of Aline. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Helena, OK. Viewing will be 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. today with the family being present from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
He was born Nov. 6, 1912, in Lambert, OK. to Spencer William and Mary Olive Allen Anthony and died Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at his home.
He married Myrle Hedrick Aug. 8, 1936, in Enid, OK. They made their home southwest of Oakdale until 1942, when they moved to Cleo Springs. He worked for the railroad in track maintenance. He was a member of Cleo Springs Church of the Nazarene. She died in 2005.
Surviving are two sons, Verlin Anthony of Hot Springs, Ark., and Elvin Anthony of Omaha, Neb.; two daughters, Carol Gering of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Marilyn Anderson of Cleo Springs, OK.; one sister, Mable Smith of Fairview, OK.; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Myrle, he was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the church or Ross Hospice of Enid.
