LELAND RAY THARP
A graveside service for Leland Ray Tharp, age 80, of Enid, will be Thursday, April 13, 2006, at 10 a.m. at the Enid Cemetery Chapel. Rev. Randall Hackworth will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
He was born September 18, 1925, to Elmer and Alice (Higbee) Tharp in Alfalfa County, OK, and died April 10, 2006, at the Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.
In 1945, he married Mary Rader, who has preceded him in death. On May 30, 1972, he married Vera Krout in Ville Platte, LA.
Leland was an Army veteran of World War II and a prisoner of war in Germany. He retired from George E. Failing Company in 1987.
He is survived by his wife, Vera of the home, a stepdaughter, Brenda Deshotel of Pine Prairie, LA; two stepgranddaughters, Donna Singleton and Nicole Adcock; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.
Memorials may be made to the Community Church of the Plains, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds.
