JOHNIE MITTELSTET
The funeral for Johnie Mittelstet, 86, of Enid, OK. will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. Paul Hass will officiate. A graveside service will be at the chapel in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
He was born Jan. 26, 1920, near Fairview, OK. to Carl and Ameilia Sonnenberg Mittelstet and died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
He graduated from Aline, OK. High School. He married Esther Schweer Aug. 10, 1947, in Covington, OK.
He worked for Hackney Iron and Steel for 32 years and farmed. He served in the Army during World War II in the 836th Engineering Aviation Battalion. He was a member of American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, YMCA and was active in Habitat for Humanity.
Surviving are his wife, Esther of the home; one daughter, Kathleen Nutting of Arvada, Colo.; three sons, Randall Mittelstet of Arvada, Colo., Roger Mittelstet and Brian Mittelstet, both of Enid, OK.; one brother, C.F. Mittelstet of Fairview, OK.; three sisters, Emily Record of Enid,OK., Doris Holle of Fairmont, OK., and Marjorie Green of Seattle, WA.; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by six sisters and four brothers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to St. Paul’s Lutheran School or YMCA Back-A-Youth.
