Daisy Carrie Crawford White McClellan
Daisy Carrie Crawford White McClellan, 88, of Las Cruces, N.M. passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007.
Daisy was born Dec. 3, 1918, in Aline, OK. to Elmer B. and Sarah Holmes Crawford.
After graduating from Aline High School, Daisy worked for a photography studio in Black-well, Okla. which led to a life-long interest in photography. She married Lloyd Jennings White, who preceded her in death. As a young widow with a two year old daughter, she married Alfred McClellan and had a son. In 1956, Alfred and Daisy moved their family to Las Cruces, N.M. Daisy helped open the Super S Drug Store in Loretto Center, where she worked at the camera and electronics counter. As Super S became Skaggs Drug Store, Daisy was the shipping and receiving clerk, until her retirement in 1983.
Daisy’s family were the most important part of her life. All her friends and family enjoyed her fun-loving and adventurous spirit. In 1975, for her first airplane flight ever, she traveled to Singapore to visit with her daughter and family.
During all the years in Las Cruces, Daisy and her family loved being in the outdoors.
Daisy is survived by her daughter, Pamela White Bogart (Ray Bogart) and son, Albert E. McClellan (Becky May), four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alfred L. McClellan, and great-grandson, Justin Bogart.
Daisy will lie in state from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 9, 2007, with a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. at Graham’s Mortuary, 555 W. Amador, Las Cruces, N.M.
