VERN D. LeCRONE
A graveside service for Vern D. LeCrone, age 94, of Enid, will be 3:30p.m. Sunday at Memory Garden Chapel in Memorial Park Cemetery, Enid, with Rev. Jay Drawbridge officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Vern was born January 26, 1911, in Helena, OK. to Goss and Eunice Davis LeCrone and passed away Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005, after a period of ill health.
He attended school in Helena. On March 11, 1939, he married Lida Mae Hurt, and she passed away Sept. 9, 1994.
After serving a term in the U.S. Army, he returned to Enid, where he worked for several years in the dry cleaning business. He later went to work for Garfield County and worked on the road and bridge crew for several years before retiring.
Vern enjoyed riding cutting horses, training bird dogs and going to the field trials. He was a member of the Grand National Quail Hunt, Ducks Unlimited and the Odd Fellows Lodge.
Vern is survived by his sister, Thelma Powers of Enid, OK.; a niece, Joyce Logan of Piedmont, OK.; a nephew, Marty Powers and his wife Shalia of Wynnewood, OK.; several great nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Karen Estenson of Enid, OK.
He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents.
Memorials may be made to the Garfield County 4-H Horse Club with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the fund.
The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to Dr. Garrett Shelton and his staff for all of the special attention and care they gave to our brother and uncle Vern.
