ROENA ‘JO’ GRACE LAIR
The funeral for Roena “Jo” Grace Lair, 94, of Fairview, OK., will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2005, at Central Christian Church, Fairview, OK. The Rev. Brent Haworth will officiate. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery, Enid, OK. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Helena, OK. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
She was born March 9, 1911, at Lambert, OK., to Spencer William and Mary Olive Allen Anthony and died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, Enid, OK.
She married Bill G. Grace Oct. 25, 1949, at Guthrie, OK. They made their home in Fairview, OK. and later moved to Enid, OK. He died Nov. 27, 1975.
While in Fairview, she worked at Neugebauer Studio and Cawley’s. After moving to Enid she did alterations for Gray’s and then Lambert’s. She later opened her own alteration specialist shop on Garriott, and also one at Vance Air Force Base.
She married Louis O. Lair Sept. 22, 1987. He died Nov. 25, 1995. She then worked for Bass Home Health. She completed a program of instruction in long term care and home health aide at Autry Technology in 1996 at the age of 78.
She moved back to Fairview in 1998. She retired in 2001 at age 83. She moved to Fairview Fellowship Home in June 2005.
Surviving are three daughters, M. Evonne Wymer of Longdale, OK., Audrey Jantzen of Ringwood, OK. and Freda Seager of Idabel, OK.; one stepson, Paul Lair of Calif.; one stepdaughter, Donna Allen of Calif.; one brother, Ernest Anthony of Cleo Springs, OK.; one sister, Mable Smith of Fairview, OK.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husbands, Bill and Louis, she was preceded in death by four brothers (George, Floyd, Emery, and baby Vernon Anthony) and three sisters (Mary McHugh, Grace Schurdell and baby Opal Jane Anthony; two stepsons and two stepdaughters).
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Fairview Fellowship Home, or Central Christian Church, Fairview.
