Rex Jack
The funeral for Rex Jack, 82, of Cheyenne Valley, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church in Cleo Springs. The Revs. Ken Smith and Rose Leroy will officiate. Burial will be in Cleo Springs Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Helena. Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. today and Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
He was born Dec. 20, 1924, in Amorita, OK. to Marion and Icy Thomas Jack and died Thursday, March 22, 2007, in Enid.
He graduated from Cheyenne Valley High School and joined the Army, serving from 1943 until 1945. He was awarded the Purple Heart, European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Sharpshooter Badge .30-caliber rifle. He lived in Enid where he worked for United States Postal Service for 30 years, first as a postal clerk and then in vehicle maitenance. He moved to Cheyenne Valley and lived there 35 years where he farmed and ranched. He was a member of United Methodist Church in Cleo Springs and a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of Experimental Aircraft Association and a master gunsmith.
Surviving are his wife Karol, of Cheyenne Valley; one son, Rex Alan Jack of Dallas; one sister, Roberta Kildow of Cherokee; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, one grandson and two brothers.
