HARRY ECK

The funeral service for Harry Eck, 101 year-old Meno, OK. resident, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2006, in New Hopedale Mennonite Church, Meno. Pastor James K. Suderman will officiate. Burial will follow in New Hopedale Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.

Harry was born Aug. 30, 1904, in Meno, OK. to Henry Eck and Eva (Koehn) Eck and died Wednesday, March 8, 2006, in Golden Oaks Nursing Home, Enid, OK.

He attended Cozy Palace Country School in Meno.

On March 11, 1934, he married Edna Mernie Bergdall on her parent’s farm south of Meno. The couple made their home in Meno. In 1944, they moved to Helena, OK. where they continued to farm. They returned to Meno in 1968.

He was a member of New Hopedale Mennonite Church where he was a caretaker of the church cemetery for over 30 years. He was a farmer, bricklayer, and carpenter. Beginning in 1968, he was custodian for Meno and OBA schools.

He is survived by three children, Shirley Campell and husband Delmar of Wichita, Kan., Lavina Bull and husband John of Houston, Texas, and Marvin Eck and wife Barbara of Bartlesville, OK.; 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Lindy Eck of Enid, OK.; four sisters, Kathryn Luscombe of Helena, OK., Mabel Buller of Goltry,OK., Clarabell Buller of Enid, OK., and Ella Frantz of Fairview, OK.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna, his parents, and seven brothers and sisters.

Memorials may be made to the church through the funeral home.
