The funeral for Kenneth Conrad Kephard Sr., 72, of Carmen, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Carmen United Methodist Church. The Rev. Kenneth Smith and David Lemmon will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wentworth Mortuary LLC, Carmen.
He was born March 17, 1935, in Carmen, to Harry Conrad and Irma Bell Pierce Kephart and died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, in Carmen.
He attended a one-room school at Yewed-Lambert, then continued at Carmen public schools. He served 11 years as a signalman in the Navy, serving in Korea, Vietnam and ports in the far eastern tour.
He married Guadalupe Ornelas April 29, 1967, in Waynoka. He attended barber school and worked as a barber in Mannford. He also worked as a school bus driver, oilfield dispatcher and laundry supervisor.
Surviving are his wife, Marie, of Enid; two children, Kenneth Conrad Kephart Jr. of Carmen and Xantippe Maria Bolar of Freedom; two brothers, Harry Kephart of Alva and Ronald Kephart of Carmen; one sister, Patricia Wray Woffard of Frederick; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Share Hospice.
