The funeral for Ervey L. Unruh, 67, of Enid, will be 2 PM Tuesday at the Ladusau – Evans Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Terry Walborn and the Rev. David Plett will officiate. Burial will follow in the Koroma Cemetery in Goltry under the direction of the funeral home.

He was born December 7, 1922, to Tobe and Lydia Buller Unruh at Meno. He died Saturday night at Highland Park Manor.

He grew up and attended school in Goltry. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. On February 21, 1951, he married Genevieve Smith in Enid they made their home in Enid, where he worked as a carpenter.

In 1977, he went to work for the City of Enid as a building and code enforcement officer. He retired in February.

He was a member of the Evangelistic center, where he was a Sunday school teacher and church secretary. He had also attended the Abundant Life Temple.

Surviving are his wife, Genevieve of the home; one daughter, Cindy Conner, San Antonio, Texas; two brothers, Harry Unruh of Meno and Rufus Unruh of Bethany, three sisters, Dorothy Yarbrough of Midwest city, Minnie Unruh of Enid and Susie Koehn of Goltry; and three grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Cancer Division.

On February 5, 2004, Genevieve Lee Unruh at the age of 78 of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Enid, went to be with our Lord. Funeral services will be at 2 PM Sunday, February 8, 2004, at the Ladusau – Evans Chapel with Rev. Al Cascioli officiating. Burial will follow in Karoma Cemetery., Goltry, Oklahoma under the direction of :adusau – Evans Funeral Home.

Genevieve was born September 23, 1925, in Goltry to John and Lena Becker Smith. She attended schools in Goltry and Enid. She married the love of her life, Earvey on February 21, 1951. In May of 1953 their daughter Cindy Lou was born. Genevieve worked in the Enid High School cafeteria for 25 years. She was also very active in church and always there to volunteer when needed. In 1995 she went to live with her daughter and family in San Antonio, Texas. At the time of her death she was living in Manor Care Nursing Home. She was a loving wife and mother and her grandchildren meant the world to her.

Genevieve is survived by her daughter Cindy and her husband Ron Conner; her three grandchildren, Robert and Karen of San Antonio, Texas, Jeff stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and Chris and Chara of San Antonio; one great – granddaughter, Madison Marie; one brother, Lawrence Smith and his wife Wanda of Enid; one sister, Marie Unruh of Enid.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Earvey; three brothers, Clyde, Elmere, and Alvin; two sisters, Virginia Wuerflien and Mable Jones.
