Albert Ross NIXON

Karoma Cemetery


The funeral for Albert Ross Nixon, 72, of Goltry was held at the Congregational Church in Goltry. The Masons conducted the services. Burial was held in Karoma Cemetery under the direction of Voss Funeral Home of Goltry.

He was born October 27, 1862 in Parks Illinois and died June 9, 1935 at his home from a heart attack at the age of 72 years 7 months and 13 days.

In 1879, Albert moved with his parents to Macon County Missouri.

He married Anna Margaret Maggert on November 15, 1885. In 1892, they moved to Hennessey Oklahoma. In 1893, he made the run at the opening of the Cherokee Strip and staked a claim. In 1919, they moved to Goltry and he was a resident there the rest of his life. He was also a Mason, joining them in 1915.

Survivors are his wife, Anna; two daughters, Vera Gazelle Nixon and Lena Belle Nixon; two sons, Emmet L. Nixon and Roy Jennings Nixon; and 2 brothers Bill Nixon and George Nixon.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
