Karoma Cemetery


A graveside service for Mildred Faye Pjesky Long, 76, of Norman, formerly of Goltry, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2009, in Karoma Cemetery, Goltry. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home of Newcastle. Viewing will be this evening at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

She was born Jan. 15, 1933, in Goltry to Samuel and Marie Koehn Pjesky and died Saturday, April 18, 2009, at her home.

She graduated from Goltry High School in 1950 and later from Phillips University with a bachelor's degree and master's degree in education.

She taught at Oklahoma Bible Academy, Douglas, Freehome, Kremlin and later Fairview Elementary and Moore-Norman Vo-Tech.

She married Paul Long Aug. 1, 1964, in Enid. Her family lived in the Moore area for 24 years and in Norman for the past 20 years.

She was a member of the Mennonite church.

Surviving are her husband, Paul, of the home; two sons, Marc Long of Oklahoma City and Eric Long of Norman; two sisters, Lillie Reimer of Sacramento, Calif., and Laura Jantz of Meno; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother.

NORMAN — Paul Wainwright Long, 78, of Norman, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, at his home. Paul was born April 24, 1932, in Lovell, Okla., the third of 11 children born to Guy Wainwright and Della Mae (Moon) Long.

Growing up, he lived in various places throughout Kansas and Oklahoma. He attended Hillsdale schools and graduated from Kremlin High School 1950. He joined the United States Navy and served his country proudly during the Korean War.

Paul returned to Oklahoma and began taking classes at Enid Business School. After graduation, he retained a position as a teacher there while completing his Certified Public Accountant license. He moved to Oklahoma City in 1962.

He met the love of his life, a young woman named Mildred Faye Pjesky. They were married Aug. 1, 1964, in Enid. During 45 years of marriage, they raised two sons, Marc and Eric. They made their home in Oklahoma City.

Paul possessed the type of gentle and kind heart that only comes from accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, in April 2009; his parents, Guy and Della Long; and sister, Mary Ann Rader.

Surviving are sons, Marc Long and wife Lisa and Eric Long; five sisters, Martha Banks, Lois Goodman, Ruth Gigoux, Doris Siebert and Dorothy Cordell; four brothers, Gene, Tom, John and Bob Long; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Kaiulani Long; a host of other family and friends; and his beloved dog, Sugar Plum.

Graveside service is 3 p.m. today in Karoma Cemetery, Goltry. Arrangements by Wilson-Little Funeral Home, Purcell.
