Karoma Cemetery


The funeral for Ruby Unruh Koehn, 82, will be 2 p.m. today, Nov. 25, 2009, at Pleasant View Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Goltry. Burial will be in Karoma Cemetery, east of Goltry. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Helena.

She was born Feb. 5, 1927, in Gray County, Kan., to Abe J. and Lizzie Unruh and died Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.

She grew up on the family farm near Montezuma, Kan., and received her education at Homestead country school. She entered nurse training and graduated in 1952. She was a member of Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. She served in church institutions and later local hospitals and hospice and the humanitarian outreach in Haiti.

She married Reuben Koehn Feb. 26, 1971, in Montezuma. They made their home on the family farm south of Goltry. They moved into Goltry in 1973. He died in 1995.

Surviving are four stepsons, Donald Koehn of Montezuma, Gladwin Koehn of Macon, Miss., Franklin Koehn of Scott City, Kan., and Dennis Koehn of Lahoma; three stepdaughters, Lola Koehn of Montezuma, Joanne Boehs of Helena and Verna June Jantz of Goshin, Ind.; two brothers, Dave of Montezuma and Frank of Phoenix; two sisters, Lillian Koehn of Montezuma and Inez Unruh of Greeley, Colo.; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Reuben, she was preceded in death by one stepson and three brothers.
