LENA JOHNSON
Funeral services for Lena Johnson of Hillsdale, OK. will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2005 at the Hillsdale Bible Church, Hillsdale, OK. Rev. Meredith Sides and Woody Woods will officiate. Burial will follow in Karoma Cemetery, Goltry, OK. under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Lena was born February 26, 1914 in Goltry, OK. to John and Rachel Nichols Wedel and died at the Methodist Home of Enid, OK. July 25, 2005. When she was five years old, she moved with her parents to Alden, OK. where she received her education.
On April 9, 1936, she married Harry Johnson in Goltry, OK. They were married 59 years. Lena has lived in the Goltry-Hillsdale communities most of her life. She is a member of the Hillsdale Bible Church where she served as deaconess, held different offices in Ladies Missionary, and taught vacation Bible School several years. Lena worked in the lunch room at Hillsdale School for 17 years and as replacement at the Hillsdale Post Office for a number of years.
She is survived by a son, Roger and wife Carolyn of Tulsa, OK.; one grandson; three step-granddaughters; one step- grandson; one great grandson; 10 step-great-grandsons; several nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband; three daughters; parents; a brother and four sisters.
Memorials may be made to the Hillsdale Bible Church and Hillsdale Christian School with the funeral home as custodian of the funds.
