Karoma Cemetery


The funeral for Nelda Rose Danz, Palatine, Ill., formerly of Goltry will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Lanman Funeral Home Chapel, Helena. Jay Drawbridge, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Karoma Cemetery southeast of Goltry. Visitation will be 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. today at the funeral home with the family present from 4-8 p.m.

She was born May 4, 1931, in Shattuck and died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, at Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights, Ill.

She graduated from Goltry High School and received a bachelor of science degree in commerce from Oklahoma A&M; College, Stillwater, in 1953, where she was a member and served as president of Tau Gamma sorority. After college she worked for Standard Oil International, Tulsa.

She married Donald Winston Danz March 6, 1955. In 1957, they were transferred to Venezuela, where they lived for four years. They spent the early 1960s in Libya then were transferred to Indonesia, and then Thailand. They also lived in Mozambique, Holland and Norway, returning to the United States in 1970. After two years in New Orleans, they settled in Palantine.

Surviving are her daughter, Donelda CarVen Danz, of Carol Stream, Ill.; one son, Don William Danz, of Tulsa; and two grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her husband.
