June 14, 1927 - July 14, 2022

Norman Eugene Woodall was born in Norman, Oklahoma, on June 14, 1927, the first child of Loyal and Helen (Zimmerman) Woodall.

Norman was a devoted husband, a caring father, a good friend, and a steadfast Christian.

He graduated from Helena High School in 1945 and joined the Navy, serving in both WWII and the Korean Conflict.

He and Lora Lee Glidewell were married on April 27, 1946, and started their family in Grand Prairie, Texas, where Norman worked as an airplane mechanic. He received an associate degree in electrical engineering and a bachelor's degree in business, both from the University of Texas, Arlington. They later moved to Newport News, Virginia, where he served as the personnel manager for Kentron, Inc., a subsidiary of NASA.

Norman and Lora retired to Helena in 1985 and were very active in community events: school sports teams, long distance running, the YMCA, the Helena Lions Club, Eastern Star, the Helena Historical Society, American Legion, and church.

Norman passed peacefully on July 14, 2022.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Loyal and Helen Woodall; his sister, Jo Ann Barrett and her husband, Ralph; and his loving wife, Lora Lee Glidewell Woodall.

He is mourned by two daughters, Betty Jo Meadows and her husband, Johnny, of Helena, Oklahoma, and April Woodall and her husband, Edward Carpitella, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; three granddaughters, Alysha Locke, of Helena, Oklahoma, Erika Denton and her husband, Robert, of Helena, Oklahoma, Celestia Carpitella, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; four great-grandsons, Cody Locke, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Levi Locke, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Payden Dunigan, of Helena, Oklahoma, and Stran Denton, of Ringwood, Oklahoma; as well as cousins, wives, nephews, friends, neighbors, colleagues, and numerous people whose lives he touched.

Funeral service for Norman will be Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Helena United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery, with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc., of Helena.

Viewing will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., with family present 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. www.lanmanmemorials.com Facebook: Lanman Funeral Home Inc.

Memorials may be given to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project through the funeral home.
